Thoughts Before My Visit to the States Next Week

In the wake of the recent elections people are frantically trying to figure out how the results will effect the political direction of the USA. While clearly the big win for the republicans in the House indicates dissatisfaction with Obama’s leadership, the likelihood of affecting much of a change is minimal.

The pressure on Israel has not lessened. Netanyahu is already looking to continue negotiations with our enemies and is seeking to placate the Obama administration by pushing for negotiations even without pressure.

The obsession the Israeli leadership has always had with trying to please what it feels to be American interests has, in and of itself, always encouraged American pressure upon us.

Israel needs leadership which fears G-d more than America. Without G-d we cannot exist. Without America we will still continue to grow. I am not suggesting that we sever our relationship with the USA, rather that we begin to make our obligations to our Creator the primary concern in any decision making process.

The PLO is not a people. It is a terrorist group whose sole purpose is to destroy Israel. Their headquarters used to be in Tunis. If they need a new homeland let them turn back to Tunis. There is no room in the Jewish State for any other national entity. The Arabs have twenty two countries, every one of which is far larger than the tiny Jewish State.

The only reason they seek to build a new state here is to weaken Israel for the kill. Any attempt by our Jewish leadership to negotiate with such an entity is an act of treason and an immediate endangerment to this country.

Redemption is a Biblical process which will eventually bring world peace. It defies both logic and nature. While politicians like to explain things logically and pragmatically, and thus look at the tiny Jewish State as just another country, the fact is that there is nothing logical or pragmatic about Israel. It came into being despite impossible obstacles, from both within and without. It continues to grow and thrive every day in spite of continued impossible obstacles from both within and without. The word “peace” has been redefined to mean that Israel must give away at least part of our Biblical inheritance to those who seek our destruction... and our leaders are negotiating!

There is nothing logical about a people that was exiled over two thousand years ago and scattered all over the world remaining as an identifiable nation. There is nothing logical about seeing a world power dedicating all of its energy to destroy this nation. There is nothing logical about the Jewish nation surviving the Holocaust. And there is certainly nothing logical about the pitiful survivors pulling together and returning to our ancient homeland against the will of friend and foe alike. The re-establishment of Jewish sovereignty in the Land of Israel is the greatest miracle since the parting of the Red Sea! Yet we close our eyes to the miracle and seek to explain it away as a natural event. This error will bring needless tragedy to those who choose to close their eyes to miracles.

Biblical Redemption is only beginning. There is much more to come. Jewish sovereignty has returned to much of our ancient homeland. The Jewish people has begun to return home from a two thousand year exile.

The extinct Hebrew language has been revived and three generations have grown up with Hebrew as their mother tongue. What yet needs to happen is for Israel to become the true Jewish State it is destined to be. Rather than seek to placate the nations it is our destiny to become a light unto the nations, simply by being a Jewish State whose reason for being is to serve G-d.

If our own leadership fails to understand its responsibility to Mankind, and its obligation to our Creator, how can we expect other nations to do so? The key to a brighter future and a world where true peace reigns is in our hands... not in the hands of the American President or the European Union. We will bring true peace when we serve our G-d and obey His commandments. By trying to bring peace by disobeying His commandments we only invite needless tragedy... as we have consistently seen in recent history.

I will be leaving Israel on Sunday morning for a speaking tour in the USA. I will be sounding the Shofar in Texas, Washington DC, and Florida. Like Israel, Project Shofar is a tiny drop of Truth in an ocean of falsehood. The likelihood of it having any affect at all is practically nothing. It is an illogical and impossible mission. But when we choose to serve our G-d, nothing is impossible and logic plays no part. We just go ahead and do what we can and trust that G-d will take care of the impossible.

This kind of thinking has given me the strength to take on this impossible mission. Every time I have gone out to speak I have come back strengthened in the knowledge that I have reached out to people and did make a difference. It matters not if that difference can be measured. If even one person comes closer to understanding the Biblical reality of the time in which we are living as a result of my efforts then it was worth all the trouble.

As I brace myself for this grueling journey, I am grateful that G-d has given me the tools to serve Him. The very fact that I am able to make these trips is a miracle. Project Shofar has enabled me to reach out to all who wish to hear without any political or financial pressures. I speak from my heart without any restrictions. The monies I raise are used completely to enable me to make these trips. If and when the funding ceases the only affect it will have on me is to prevent further visits. In fact the financial crisis in the states has severely affected contributions to Project Shofar. Unless things change for the better, this may well be my last visit. It is G-d who opens the hearts of generous people. If it is His Will that Project Shofar continue, it will continue. If not, then it won’t. I will follow wherever the path leads me, and I am more than grateful for what I have already been able to do.

It is with this spirit that I prepare once again to fly into the unknown to serve my G-d and my people.
